RE: is an unrestricted, poetic, multimedia experiment in communication between the participating artists.
Over 7 months each artist will create 5 new works – a total of 30 works. Once a week (every Sunday, from March 2011) the artists will take turns in presenting a work via the ’Artwork’ page. There’s only one rule; each new piece must reference the one produced before it. The artists collaborating are: Anna Madeleine, Benjamin Forster, Robbie Karmel, Luke Penders, Sarah Catherine Firth and Travis H Heinrich.

Experimenta New Media Commission for my work Admonition:
http://www.experimenta.org/exhibitions-projects/commissioned-works/current.html
2010 commissioned artist Sarah Firth is funded through the Australia Council’s Young and Emerging Artists’ Initiative for artists under 30. These commissions help to grow the young artist’s practice, strengthen their understanding of media art process, exhibition considerations, collaborations and technical process. Firth’s work, “Admonition”, is inspired by her concerns for nature in the 21st century. “Admonition” is a kinetic sculptural tree that, once approached, comes to life and begins to draw. The tree produces a range of mark making from precise diagrammatic drawings to wild lyrical scribbling and works relentlessly in its pursuit to communicate with the viewer. It could be that the drawings express the cycle of nature, from subtle and soothing to violent and seemingly erratic or perhaps it’s a warning, a plea for us to listen to nature and stop destroying it. Reflex - Mechanical Poetry show receives CCA 2009 Visual Arts Award:
“Geoffrey Farquhar-Still was presented with the award for the group show at M16, Reflex - A Show of Mechanical Poetry, a standout exhibition of mechanical oddities. It was a tight, compact show in which the kinetic sculptures communicated with one another, and the audience, in an absurd, delightful and slightly sinister manner.” To see Sarah Firth’s work Dream Machine from the show click this link:
